City of Fort Wayne Cooling Stations

In partnership with the City of Fort Wayne and Everyone Home, multiple Cooling Stations have been opened in Fort Wayne to help those needing to find a place to fight the heat.

Cooling Station Locations

Locations will be open regardless of temperature unless otherwise noted. Please continue to check back as additional location will be added.

The Rescue Mission Day Shelter

The Rescue Mission's day shelter is open 7 days a week from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Open regardless of temperature. Adults can access overnight shelter here as well. 

Location: 404 E. Washington Boulevard, Fort Wayne

Also, 3 meals are served each day for anyone in the community who is hungry:
Breakfast at 7:00 AM
Lunch at 12:00 Noon
Dinner at 5:00 PM

The Salvation Army Cooling Station

The Salvation Army Cooling Station is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (except holidays)

Location: 2901 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne

On Citilink Bus Route #8

InAsMuch Ministry Cooling Station

Location: 930 Broadway Street

Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Tuesday/Thursday: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Monday - Friday when the temperature is over 90 degrees: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Public Library Main Branch Cooling Station

Location: 900 Library Plaza

Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Closed on July 4th, August 31st, September 1st and September 30th

Location: 2305 Broadway, Fort Wayne IN 46807
Current Hours: Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hours Beginning July 1, 2025: Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM; Saturday/Sunday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Site open for adults only due to the nature of services provided

Citilink Busses as Mobile Cooling Stations

Citilink buses will serve as mobile cooling stations to help our community beat the heat. 
Hours of Operation: 
Monday through Friday: 5:45 AM - 9:45 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Closed on July 4th

 

The Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services and the Planning Council on Homelessness continue to look for other partners to assist with the summer weather plan in order to offer extended hours during evenings.
